Powers Advances at Bells T&C team rider Roy Powers (HAW) advanced to Round 4 in challenging conditions at today's Rip Curl Pro at Bells Beach. A lack of consistent waves left competitors with few scoring opportunties. In Powers' heat against fellow Hawaii surfer Pancho Sullivan, 20 minutes passed before Sullivan caught a wave. Powers took full advantage of the waves that did roll in and posted a 12.16 to defeat Sullivan. Round 4 resumes tomorrow where Powers faces rookie standout Dane Reynolds (USA).
